Basics
The are a total of 88 paylines on Emperor of the Sea. These are spread out across 5 reels with a minimum bet of 0.38 and a maximum one of 44. These numbers may look completely random and they may well be, but there could be some sense to them as well. The number 8 is considered to be very lucky in China, which is no doubt why it plays such a key role in this slot.
The Emperor of the Sea logo is a wild, one that is quite generous and appears quite often. There is no multiplier attached, but it can replace every other symbol apart from the bonus one, so it usually leads to a winning payline.
The best thing about the Emperor of the Sea slot is the fact that it uses Rolling Reels, a feature that was made popular on other Microgaming real money casino slots like Football Star. It’s also one that has been copied by Playtech on games like Jack Hammer, but one that Microgaming always do best.
Bonus Rounds
There is a free spins round on Emperor of the Sea that can trigger a total of 1 free spins. This may not sound like much, especially as it’s the only feature, but on a Rolling Reels game like this it is huge. Most Rolling Reel games have free spin rounds and multipliers and some of them don’t even have that. If you have played these games then you will understand just why this is important and just how much of an impact this feature can have.
The reason it works so well is because a single spin on game like this can trigger many more spins, but in a free spins round it will still only count as 1. This round can therefore go on for a long time—if you’re lucky enough—and if it does then you could be collecting an impressive pot at the end of play.
Our Rating 7/10
We love the Rolling Reels feature. It’s one of the things that we like the most about Microgaming and it’s something that works exceptionally well in Emperor of the Sea. We personally don’t like the way it works on games like Football Star, because the wins can be very small and insignificant. With Emperor of the Sea, the wins are bigger, the Rolling Reels go on for longer and all in all, you tend to walk away with considerably bigger wins.
