Basics
There are 5 reels on Pollen Party, with 3 symbols on the first, 4 on the second, 5 on the third, 4 on the fourth and 3 on the fifth. This design doesn’t seem to make much room for paylines, but despite that there are still 720 of them in total. There is a wild in the form of a Pollen Party logo and a huge betting range, beginning at just 0.5 and going all of the way to 1,000.
The graphics on Pollen Party are a bit of a letdown. They are very simple and a little blocky in places. This is far from the 3D spectacle that you would expect from new releases by the likes of NetEnt and BetSoft, but it seems to be par for the course for Microgaming. The many real money casinos and players that enjoy playing what this developer has to offer don’t seem to care about the aesthetic and focus entirely on the gameplay. And in this case that’s just as well, because while Pollen Party does have the gameplay, it doesn’t have the graphics.
Bonus Rounds
You can unlock a free spins round by landing three of the scatter symbols, which come in the form of a bee sitting on a flower. There are additional symbols to unlock and a re-spin to trigger during this bonus round, but the round doesn’t seem to come along very often and isn’t all that generous when it does.
Pollen Party also has a bonus round, which is unlocked via the baby bee symbol. You can land 3, 4 or 5 of these, triggering a bonus in three different states and unlocking varying prizes when you do. Once the game begins you have to pick several choices, revealing cash prizes behind the ones that you pick. There is also one option that provides you with an extra choice, but if you find the “POP” symbol then the game ends prematurely.
This bonus round seems to occur at a similar frequently to the free spins. It is usually a little more generous, but this is not the sort of game where you will regularly walk away with 30x to 50x, so don't expect such big wins.
Our Rating: 4/10
This slot, which can be found on most Microgaming casinos, looks like it was inspired by Beehive Reactors. But that game had a unique mini-game, it had a unique base game and it had great graphics. None of those apply here, which means that Pollen Party is just not the game that it was designed to be.
Those issues are the reason why we can’t score Pollen Party anymore than 5/10. As things stand it’s interesting enough to warrant at least some of your attention, but it’s nowhere near as good as it could be and won’t hold your attention for very long.
