We would like to begin by saying that we have done Thunderkick and many developers like them a great disservice. In the past we have complained that they don’t create attractive games, that they don't make games that can rival the like of NetEnt and BetSoft. Thunderkick are not the worst offenders but they have been included in such complaints along with Play’n Go, GameArt and many of the new breed of Swedish developers.

After looking at Well of Wonders, we take it all back. Not only is this a truly beautiful game, but it is unique. It has taken the concept of the multi-reel slot, thrown it out the window and rebuilt it from scratch. The end product is beautiful, so much so that we’re surprised this hasn’t been picked up by may of the top rated online casinos out there, including LeoVegas.

The concept of the game begins with a well. When you spin, several symbols pop out of this well and hover over the forest backdrop. The goal is to line up symbols of the same type. If you do, those symbols disappear in a pop of pixie dust and are then replaced by more symbols drawn from the well.

There are only 6 symbols active at one time, which is very small, but somehow it works and it’s a joy to play from the first spin. There is also a varied betting range beginning at 0.01 and going up to 100.

The main symbol to keep an eye out for on Well of Wonders is the wild. This is very strong and because of the size of the game reel, it has a big impact. There are also stones around the bottom of the well which show you how big your multiplier is. The more wins you get, the more this builds.

This multiple doubles in size, so while you begin with just 2x, this is at 16x before you know it, with the maximum being 32.

There is also a feature on this top rated casino slot that appears as a fairy. She pops up on any non-winning spin and helps to move things along. She’s actually quite common, or at least she was for us.

We really like this slot and are already looking for it on our favorite real money online casinos. We have yet to see it on the biggest and highest rated casinos, but we’re sure it’s just a matter of time. Thunderkick have outdone themselves here and deserve the highest praise, even from us.

It doesn’t have a higher rating purely because it’s a small game. It’s neat, it’s cute, but giving it 10/10 would put it on the same level as some big blockbusters found on top NetEnt casinos, and it’s not quite at that level.

Not a bad effort though and we would love to see more of these games released by Thunderkick.
