Stan James Online Casino Review
Stan James is a well known gambling brand in the UK, one of the many that started as a trackside bookie, writing odds on a chalkboard and taking bundles of cash from punters. However, a lot has changed since those early days.
Stan James became one of the lowest rated gambling websites on the internet not too long ago and then they were bought out by Unibet. So, just what has happened in that time and is this online casino deserving of a rating and a status as one of the best rated casinos online, or is it still a poor site that you should avoid?

Software and Games
The Stan James casino is now powered by Unibet and is basically a replica of it. That’s not the case for all of the site (not yet anyway) but it is here. That’s a good thing though as it has helped it to drastically improve.
You can play on your mobile device and there is also a live dealer option. They have hundreds of games to choose from and are adding new ones all of the time, with a strong base of Playtech titles and plenty of NetEnt games as well. They never used to be on the ball when it came to adding new games and taking advantage of new software, but the Unibet takeover seems to have helped with this a great deal and there are new games added every week.
We haven’t seen much in the way of exclusive titles like you get from some of their rivals, but there is still more than enough to choose from.

Customer Support
A lot of the issues that gamblers have had with Stan James in the past have concerned its customer support, which was quite poor to say the least. They were slow and often non-responsive and they were not very helpful, often more keen on getting into an argument with customers than trying to solve their issues, which is the opposite of what big and respectable brands like 32Red do.
However, this has improved since they have been taken over by the Unibet brand. There is still someway to go, but they are clearly intent on making changes to the previous setup and it looks like some of those have already been implemented.
Casino Rating: 6/10
If we were to have rated Stan James Casino and the Stan James website on the whole just a few months ago, the rating would struggle to get past 4/10. They really were poor and the online casino ratings you can find on other sites are still very representative of this.
However, they have made an effort to change and most of those changes have been good. In the months and years to come we expect more to be implemented, at which time Stan James will either begin to look a lot more like Unibet or will completely dissolve into them.
Either option would be good and would help to turn them into one of the top English online casinos.
