Lightning Box are an underrated, up-and-coming iGaming developer that is trying hard to match the likes of NetEnt and Quickspin, and with the launch of Chicken Fox they could have just taken a giant leap towards doing that.

This is a cute and quirky slot that is unlike anythign we have seen in terms of the theme, and when you combine that with a standard but fun play and some great bonus features, Chicken Fox could be one of the better titles created by smaller developers in 2019.

Chicken Fox has 25 paylines, 5 reels, an in-game jackpot of 400, and a great free spins feature to unlock.

Chicken Fox Bonuses and Payouts

Chicken Fox takes place in a chicken coup with the “fox” being the money-hungry player looking to pickup the stacks of money strewn throughout this coup. The symbols include a kindly old woman carrying a pie (because, why not?) in addition to farmyard animals and a golden egg, the latter of which triggers the bonus feature.

This bonus round is a free spins feature that triggers anywhere from 8 to 30 free games depending on how many of the Bonus symbols appear. There are some big paying symbols on this game, a decent volatility and a good pay range.

The RTP is not the best at a fraction under 96%, but it’s one of those slots that feels a lot more generous than the RTP would suggest, so we can’t argue with that.

Chicken Fox Review: 72/100

This Lightning Box title is not going to win any awards and it won’t climb to the top of any “best of” lists. But it’s a solid effort by a developer that few players will have heard of and when you consider how many new developers are out there creating dull and generic titles, it’s always good to see someone who actually looks like they are trying.
