It’s carnival time courtesy of Chance Interactive and Buster Hammer Carnival, a beautifully made video slot with an old-timey circus aesthetic and a huge number of paylines. There are a number of great games out there with similar themes, the question is, does Buster Hammer Carnival rank amongst them?

Buster Hammer Carnival Bonuses and Payouts

There are over 3,000 paylines on Buster Hammer Carnival thanks to the use of an unusual 5x5 layout. It also looks great, with an animated weight lifter by the side of the reels at all times. It has a very NetEnt style to it and we were instantly drawn in when we first saw it, but as soon as that aesthetic wore off there wasn’t a great deal to get excited about.

It has a relatively low RTP at 95% and while it does have a free spins feature, it’s nothing special, it doesn’t lead to huge wins (in our experience, anyway) and it is not backed-by a bonus feature or by any random features.

It is also a slot that you need to play on your mobile. We played it on a desktop, but it had a very minimalist feel to it and it was clear that it was designed for mobile. Maybe we would be a little less critical of it if we did play it on mobile, but these days slots should look great and work well on both platforms.

Buster Hammer Carnival Review: 65/100

Buster Hammer Carnival looks good, there is no denying that, and it also has an impressive number of paylines, but beyond that it doesn’t really work for us. It’s not unique, it doesn’t have any standout features and when you compare it to similar slots out there it falls pretty flat.

It’s not the worst we have seen though and it’s still worth a play if you like games with lots of rows and stacks of paylines.
